One of the most challenging tasks in obtaining a Post Graduate Diploma or Masters in Medical Sonography is currently finding a clinical training placement. With a vast field of students looking to secure positions and such limited places available, students need to advance their position to be considered.
Students must have:
- An undergraduate degree in Health Science.
- Enrolment in an Australian ASAR accredited Medical Sonography Post Graduate Program.
Ideally students should have had at least 2 years clinical practice within their field of expertise, or alternatively, extensive work experience in the field of Radiology.
It is also preferred that students have completed the first 2 units of their Medical Sonography Post Graduate qualification.
Students will undertake a 12 week intensive training program of practical ultrasound skills and extensive ultrasound theory units. During the 12 weeks students will have over 400 hours of patient contact and over 35 hours of theory.
Scanning patients in a working radiology practice, students will gain invaluable experience in ultrasound scanning, working as part of a Radiology Team and working alongside a Radiologist; providing them with the exceptional head start into a career in Medical Ultrasound.
Students are taught by highly experienced Tutor Sonographers, who provide daily tutorials, ensuring the highest level of academic learning.
For Radiology practices requiring a sustainable work force without the time or facilities to train in-house, Integrated can provide trainees who have been trained by experienced Tutors, within a real clinical setting, ensuring the transition from this Clinical Training program to your practice is seamless.
